Perugino Cafe and Winebar

Perugino brings to Eugene the Italian tradition of great espresso made at a bar, face to face with the customer. The existing tenant space in the historic Smeede Hotel is stripped back to a simple rectangular brick and plaster box with a rustic exposed wood joist ceiling.

Modest interventions maximize ambiance and create layers and intrigue. Carefully crafted wrought-steel shelving preserves views through the space while structuring the display of coffee, wine and pottery. Vibrant orange-red padouk counters and shelves, deep red plaster surfaces and existing rough brick offer warmth and authenticity. Along the north edge, big mirrors and an elegantly shaped integrated bar emphasize people and service.
