John Rowell, AIA

Principal

John is a Principal at Rowell Brokaw Architects, and takes an active role in the planning, design and management of projects. He has extensive experience working with public, commercial and private clients on a wide range of project types. With 17 years experience, John is a skilled designer and effective leader in the design process, and has received numerous awards for design quality. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Oregon where he teaches design, structural planning and construction technology

Prior to starting the firm in 1998, which then became Rowell Brokaw Architects, John worked with top firms including Gary Moye Architect (Eugene), Building Design Partnership (London) and Delgatty Architects (Vancouver B.C.). John is a licensed architect in Oregon, California, Nevada and Washington and has worked in architecture firms in England, Canada and the United States on projects ranging from large-scale institutional and commercial developments to multi-unit and single family residential. He is experienced in all aspects of project delivery including analysis and feasibility, programming, concept design, design development, technical detailing and construction administration.

John received his undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia and his graduate architectural education was at the University of Oregon.
